Le navigateur web d'OpenAI : un nouveau concurrent pour Google

de a small research laboratory à a leader in artificial intelligence, OpenAI has come a long way since its inception in 2015. So much so that Sam Altman’s group is becoming a serious competitor pour le giant Google. And not just because of ChatGPT. en plus to its l'IA générative tool, the firm plans to launch its own browser. découvrez OpenAI’s future web browser.

OpenAI’s web browser and user data collection

Why is OpenAI launching its own web browser?

While OpenIA has exploded thanks to ChatGPT, the firm must also find resources to finance all its innovations. And for that, data is invaluable.

Google has understood this well with its Chrome browser. And for good reason: this browser accounts for nearly three-quarters of Alphabet’s revenue. Thanks to user data, the web giant targets its publicité more effectively and profitably, while directing search traffic to its default engine.

By launching its own browser, OpenAI aims to capture part de marché de this highly lucrative model. But beware, the idea is not so much à offer external publicité links, but rather to keep interactions within a native ChatGPT-type chat interface.

Combined with artificial intelligence, this information will then make it possible to transforme consumer behaviour on the web.

Good to know: OpenAI’s web browser is not yet active, but it should be a lancé within the next few weeks.

What will OpenAI’s browser look like?

OpenAI’s browser will not just provide a list of links. à l'ère de artificial intelligence, simple moteurs de recherche are no longer sufficient. They must be equipped with intelligent features:

  • A chatbot: with ChatGPT and its various models, Sam Altman's company has already demonstrated that it knows comment respond accurately to internet users' queries.
  • agents IA: beyond chat, OpenAI's web browser will intégrer intelligent agents (such as Operator) capable of performing tasks on behalf of the user. Par exemple, booking a flight for a holiday in the Maldives, with hotel and transport included. Or filling out a form to register for an event. Basically, the user specifies their requirements, and the agent takes care of the rest.

These innovations are breathing new life into the world of browsers. But OpenAI is far from being the only one developing them.

un nouveau browser takes on the giant Google Chrome

With 400 million weekly users, OpenAI has already shaken Google. But is that enough? Nothing could be less certain.

Google Chrome is currently used by over 3 billion people, representing two-thirds of the global browser market. It too is innovating with the recent intégration of AI overviews.

Added to this are other competitors, such as Safari and Perplexity. All of them are innovating with chatbots and sometimes even agents IA.

To establish itself, Sam Altman’s firm is stepping up its efforts, such as recruiting two Chrome vice-presidents who worked on the development of Chrome. With its crack team, OpenAI’s web browser promises some exciting surprises.
